The Australian Government introduced Carer Gateway in December 2015 to provide practical information and resources to carers through a national website and phone service.
The Government will build on and expand Carer Gateway in 2019, making it the central point for carers for supports and services, information and advice and assistance with connecting to other local support services.
From July this year, carers will be able to access new online supports such as peer support and coaching services, educational resources, as well as a new phone-based counselling service
From September, carers will be able to access carer-specific supports and services through a new network of Carer Gateway service providers, which will work with carers to plan and access tailored and flexible services.
